The Warriors of Frostclan: Thorn's legacy {TBU}

Post  dragonnaruto on Mon Sep 12, 2011 6:41 pm

Author's note: This is the legacy of Thorn, from the moment of first consciousness till he comes across Pheonixtalon, a warrior of Frostclan. I shall warn you now, while his story might start off slow, it is gruesome and not for the feeble minded. On that note we shall begin:

Thorn's legacy:

Prologue:

A vast mountain range stood free and untouched in all of nature's glory. Streams and rivers flowed through the valleys, animals frolicked among the greenery. One such animal, a plump brown rabbit nibbled on a piece of grass. The bunny was distraught, he had lost his companions the other day. However the distraught rabbit was only about to get another scare. For behind a large rock, crouched and watching the rabbit was a young she-cat. She was a beautiful she-cat with crystal blue eyes and pure white fur. The she-cat crept around from the rock slightly, she was still crouched low silently. Her weight evenly distributed to her haunches. Her tail was held out straight to avoid brushing against anything. She knew she had her hunt staged perfectly, she was downwind form the rabbit and in prime condition. No leaves covered the ground and it was the prime of New-leaf. She saw the bunny shift and the she-cat froze watching it, intently. But the fat prey was merely picking up a berry that had fell, from the base of a bush. The she-cat waited a moment than resumed her quiet, careful, stalking.

The brown bunny was nibbling on a berry when his hind paws felt a very small thrum in the ground. The movement of a rushing animal. The bunny froze stock still, and glanced around, his eyes swiveled in their sockets. There was no such hunter in sight. Than he slowly turned to look behind him as the wind changed direction now blowing towards, rather than away from, him. He looked up to see a pure white cat leaping to sink her jaws into his throat. But the bunny, filled with fear jolted forward, the she-cats teeth hit its flank, scouring a small red line before bouncing off from the rush of the bunny's furry body. The small plump creature moved rather quickly and was meters away in the blink of an eye.

But he was facing a a she-cat. And not just any she-cat a cat filled with the determination to acquire prey for her starving friend. She ran off in pursuit of the rabbit. Her long swift sides, quickly gaining on the plump bunny. Her body was low to the ground for primal speed. Her mind was already imagining the feel of warm blood in her mouth. She growled and ran with renewed vigor. She glanced ahead of the rabbit, trying to see a spot where she could speed up and pounce on her prey. But instead what she saw was a hole in the dirt, a rabbit hole.

The bunny sped up its paces as it saw it's cozy home, finally in sight. He thought he might escape yet, and live to see another predator-free day. Behind the bunny, the hunter was speeding up even more, and gaining quickly. But the rabbit could see it's home and it knew escape was close to its furry little grasp. Only 10 yards to go, the rabbits plump body bounded ahead. 5 yards, the cat fell a pace behind. 3 yards, the she-cat was catching up. 2 yards, the she-cat was right behind it now. 1 yard, the she-cat was crouched down to pounce. 0 yards, the bunny jumped into its hole and felt the impact of dirt. It screeched with delight, and went to retreat farther into his hole.

The cat saw her prey disappear down its hole, but she didn't give up hope. She pounced on the hole and her front paw reached out, she thrust it into the hole. She felt her paw bump against a furry body. The bunny, looked down into the tunnel and started padding farther down. But something was holding him back, he couldn't move. He looked back, eyes wide with terror, to see the claws of a hungry she-cat hooked into his fur. Before the bunny knew what was happening, the she-cat dragged and pulled with all her strength, as she pulled him back, his fur came blocking the hole. The she-cat eagerly grabbed it in her jaws and tugged with more strength. The rabbit flooded out of the hole and the she-cat fell back. The cat had taken him out of the hole, out of his home. The cat regained her balance and flung herself at the bunny. The cat, moved lighting fast and had its jaw's fastened around the underside of the rabbit's neck. Her claws were in it's fur. With a quick snap of her jaws, warm blood flooded the she-cat's, the hunter's, mouth.

The she-cat wanted to dig into the rabbit, but she tore only a small piece form it at the base of it's neck and chewed on the meat. Her friend needed it more. She glanced down her chest fur was matted with the blood of the rabbit, with a few swift licks she quickly cleaned it;. She would fully groom herself later but for now, she needed to get to her friend. Every second counted. She picked up the rabbit in her mouth and turned her eyes to her goal. A small black dot at the base of a mountain where her friend was waiting.

Chapter one:

At the far end of a dark cave with her back against a wall lay a young she-cat. She was a strikingly beautiful brown tabby, with white on her paws and belly, and a touch by her muzzle. But the most beautiful part about her were her green eyes. But they couldn't exactly be described as green. For they contained an entire ocean of green and blue, they seemed to penetrate a cat's soul to stare directly at their heart. But in a way that never judged the cat, though it might send shivers up their spine. Currently the she-cat with the piercing eyes had four young kits against her belly. She was looking down at them with eyes filled with love and warmth.

A small brown tabby kitten, fluttered into consciousness for the first time. Everything was black, he could barely hear strange mewing sounds. He could smell something though, the scent of milk and his brother's and sister. A large warm pelt was pressed against his left side. Some strange internal instinct guiding him, he turned and buried his head into the fur. Other bodies were doing the same thing, he pressed against one as he started suckling from his mother's belly. Yes, he knew it was his mother just as he knew the other bodies doing the same as him were his brothers and sisters. It was some strange instinct, telling him. He furrowed deeper against his mother's body enjoying the milk. It was a welcome liquid and he enjoyed the way it filled him with strength. After drinking, along with his brothers and sisters, he curled up to sleep against his mothers warm body. Occasionally he would wake up while sleeping to feel his mothers warm tongue traversing his body gently. The process repeated for a few days, drink, and sleep.

The small brown tabby kitten dropped down from suckling from his mother. He did an entire one eighty and crouched down. Today he was determined to explore the inky blackness. He crawled forward, methodically placing one paw than the next. After slow careful steps though, he felt his energy leave him. He couldn't go any further. A large paw landed in front of him and pulled his back to his mother's side. It was his mother's paw of course, she licked his head in between his ears and he curled down to sleep. Just when he was about to, an unfamilar scent reached his nose. He put his head up, turned in the direction away from his mother. He had smelled this cat before, it often visited and its smell was left in small fragments over the cave. He could hear noise with his ears coming from it, but he couldn't quite understand what it was saying. The next he thing knew, something landed near him. He yelped but from his not yet developed throat all that came out was a soft mew. He thought he heard a sharp 'ssss' sound from his mother but the sound disappeared along with the strange cat, its scent faded as it fleed away.

The brow tabby kit stood up. His brothers and sisters to his left were doing the same. They all were scrambling towards the furry thing that smelled so inciting. It was only a few inches away from the kits but it felt like an eternity to the small brown tabby to get there. The kits scrambled on top of the body sniffing it and trying to bite it with their teeth. Their weak jaws couldn't penetrate the flesh though. After a few moments, their mothers paw slowly drew them back to her side, and she picked up the furry body, a squirrel, and bit into it. Sending an even more enticing smell to the small, tired kittens.

Chapter two: The sight

Several days had passed since the birth of the four kits. Now the third oldest of them, a small brown tabby kit opened his eyes for the first time. The kit lay against his mother and he had the strangest impulse as he woke up from his nap. He twitched something near his muzzle, and the strangest thing happened. He could, well he wasn't really sure what it was, the usual blank landscape was replace by some sort of a gray foggy murk. The grey was all around expect for a single pane of white in the distance. His pale blue eyes looked about in wonder with the strange marvel of sight.

The tabby brown kit turned in place, looking around. he saw two bundles of fur lying against an even larger piece of fur. He soon recognized the large fur for hat it was, the scent eroding off it gave it away. It was his mother, he pawed against her stomach, curiously looking around. He could spot a white fur, a small kit, with pale blue eyes wandering the strange area. He could smell her too, it was his sister. Then the other two bundles of fur laying against his mother must be his brothers.

He felt a soft paw touch against the top of his head. He looked up, yes that's what he was doing, he was looking. "Why little Thorn," A soft kind voice said "you have opened your eyes." he could see a mixture of colors above him, brown, black, white blue. It was hard to make sense of them, eventually the image formed into the appearance of his mothers furry face.

Thorn, the brown tabby kit, opened his mouth to say something, all that came out was a soft mew. Although he could understand his mother, he didn't seem to be able to produce the same sounds. "You and your sister are the only ones yet." His mother continued warmly, "Your brothers are still as blind as a bat." Thorn mewed again softly as he staggered closer to his sleeping brothers. He burrowed into his mother's fur and started suckling hungrily, is paws working her belly.

After a few minutes, Thorn stopped and dropped away from her. He turned around to come face to face with an almost pure white she-kit. her pale blue eyes stared back at him. He cocked his head at her sister. Her muzzle twitched at the corner of her lips and she cuffed him over the ear with a small white paw.

Thorn leaped at his sister batting her with his own paws. She retaliated with a nip to his flank. he smacked his tail against her face, and after only a few moments the two kits were tired. Their mother's gentle laughter made their ears twitch. A large paw pulled both kits, one at a time over to their mother's belly.

Thats what a kit's like when they're born >.> Blind and curious. They wander mostly base don their sense of smell, their hearing isn't that good either. BTW, when a kit does finally does get sight, its eyes are pale blue and everything blurry then it gets better over time.

Too lazy to continue this...brief summary:

He was born in a litter of four, to his rogue mother. He never knew his father. he had two brothers and one sister. The first two moons of his life were relatively peaceful. But near the beginning of his third moon of life his mother started to have trouble to hunt enough for family. The five cats nearly starved to death, with only one tired she-cat hunting.

They managed to survive for a moon though, when their numbers slowly started dwindling. Him and his brother, Oak, were playing by a river's edge, in the center of valley, when Oak fell in after tripping over a rock. His mother was away hunting at the time. Thorn always blamed himself for Oak's death, he had tried to swim after him but the current was too strong, he barely survived but climbing to the top of a large boulder. His mother saved him after his brother Blaze, heard his mewing and got her.

A quarter moon later his sister, Cloud, disappeared. Thornpaw wasn't sure whether she died or not.

They lived with some old friends of his mothers, at the edge of the mountains, for another half moon then left. He had gotten into a fight with some cats nearby. One of his mother's friends taught him a bit of how to fight after that, and some hunting as well. He remembered his mother saying she had never wanted to return there. He found out why, the night after they left.

Scar came, a black tom cat covered with scars who had been in love with his mother for moons, years. But it had been an unrequited love. Once again Scar was turned down by his mother. Scar turned viscous, and attacked, he nearly killed Thorn, in a matter of seconds before his mother saved him. They ran from Scar for a moon, but he was always hunting them.

When they hadn't seen him for a quarter moon, Thorn left to go hunting, his mother had taught him more about hunting. He returned to find Scar there, in viscous throng with his mother. His brother's dead blood covered body lay on the floor. Thornpaw had ran to it, poking prodding, licking it, willing his brother Blaze to wake. His mother told him to run, she put herself between Thorn and Scar and shoved Thorn away. Thorn ran and ran, crying, mewling. Hours later he returned at the dead of night to find his mother's dead body laying next to Blaze's. Something snapped inside him and he swore revenge.

He believes himself to be an avenger and he'll do anything to kill Scar.

He lived on his own for a half moon before joining Frostclan.....done. The end.
