Emeraldeye lifted his head, his tired gaze resting on Briarface. The sick cat's ragged breathing made the sleepy medicine cat cringe. "Harrierstar," He mewed somberly, padding out of the den, "Do....Do you think, we should end it for Briarface tonight?" His green gaze was pained and full of unshed tears. "He's only in more pain with every breath."

Hearing Emeraldeye's words, Relicheart left the leader and began to make his way to the warriors' den for more sleep, as he didn't get enough that night with all the chaos. He settled down, his large body curled up against the soft moss and he fell into a deep slumber.

Sourkit snorted and hissed,"There's no way I'm related to those kits of your. They're nothing like me at all. I'm so big and they're all puny and weird looking. Bluekit's got those creepy, blind-looking eyes, Miasmakit's got her smoggy pelt and weird ringed tail, and Black-kit, your special kit, has that weird black and blue striped fur and has dreams of surpassing Starclan. I'm like none of them! I'm ordinary!" Sourkit dropped from her maw and looked over at his siblings, who were all now fast asleep, and sneered. "I don't belong in her with them."

Blueshard soon reawoke from his slumber. It was not long at all; How could it be? The dreamless sleep he had fallen into had turned to tragic nightmares of the days past. From Flowerfall to Baywater To dewstar, the torturous memories disturbed him more and more until he woke up with a start. Looking about the camp, it still seemed dark, but that could have just been him. Nonetheless, he dragged himself to his paws and tried to remember what all had happened. The place was unfamiliar to him, but as he regathered his memory of the night before, he remembered what had taken place. He looked out upon the camp, taking in the surroundings as best as he could.

As Ashenpaw trotted back to to camp with chaffinch in her mouth she suddenly smelled the aroma of the mouse. She thought about the mouse earlier and decide it had to be the same one.As she was burying her chaffinch she thought about her having kits. She wanted to but she knew she would ruin her chances of being the deputy. As she trotted over silently toward the mouse. As she crouched stepping forward paw by paw toward the mouse. When the moderate size mouse came into view it lifted its head sensing something was wromg, but Ashenpaw was far to close for it to escape. With lightning speed she pounced on the mouse and killed it with ease."Another succesful day of hunting", she thought to herself. As she trotted back into camp she dropped the chaffinch of and kept the mouse. When she finally laid down to eat she realized she was far hungrier than she thought. When she finished her mouse she decided to slip into the darkness of sleep.

(( FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Lavapaw is going to head back to camp if he doesn't see any ghosts. >:3 ))

Lavapaw put his nose to the ground sniffing, he was walking alongside the river his tail tail flicking from side to side. His green eyes had a bright shine to them, as he looked up suddenly alert, and a bit fearful, his ears stood up high, and his eyes were wide. He thought he had heard something, a voice? Or was it just the wind? "H-hello?"

Dusksoul was curled up, in the back of the warriors den. His muzzle pressed into his fur, and his ears flat on his head, as he tried to block out the noise. He just wanted some sleep. Was that so hard to get?

EDIT: (( @AP: She-cats can't be deputy. ))

"What are you doing out here, kit?" Snarled a dark voice, a pitch black paw emerging from the shadows of the trees. A few more pawsteps revealed a huge, orange-eyed black cat. "The forests are dangerous at night." With this, he grinned wickedly, flashing his white teeth at the young apprentice.

(Now I will piss everybody off with my trolliness)

Cursekit, who'd finally given in and followed Lavapaw, stifled a gasp. She was hiding in some brush, her small, dark russet body had been easily concealed in the darkness of the night. Ghost! was her only thought as she almost fell over from shock. She let out a small squeal. I'm dead.

Fatalspawn gritted her teeth, but her gaze stayed soft and gentle. "Sourkit, you can't choose your siblings. The best thing to do is try your best to get along with them. And calling them weird isn't helping." She curled up to Sourkit, wrapping her long tail around the large kitten, a loving gaze in her eyes. "But here's one thing. I can tell they love you."

"Yes.... yes I think we should." Harrierstar meowed. He slunk into the den and sat next to his old mentor. "I just wish it didn't have to end this way, he should of gone out fighting." The leader meowed, the old tom had noticed the stranger out of the corner of his eye but he was too distressed to deal with him at the moment and he wasn't being treated as a prisoner so he assumed the cat was just passing through. (excuse for why he hasn't dealt with Blueshard yet.)

"None of us wanted it to end like this," Emeraldeye whispered, rolling out a few bright red berries from the back of his den. "A final good-bye?" The light brown tom asked, his voice hushed. Just the sight of Briarface's thin brown pelt and uneven, labored breathing made tears wells up in his now-dull eyes.

Harrierstar took a deep breath and placed one paw lightly on Brairface's side. "Rest easy friend, you deserve it." He meowed. He then drew his paw back and looked away. "Do it."

Emeraldeye nodded solemnly, opening Briarfaces maw. He squished the deathberries slightly and put them into the old deputy's mouth. He rubbed his throat to make the cat swallow. "You're suffering ends here, old friend," He mewed, watching as the deathberries took affect, making the cat convulse until the inevitable were to happen.

With a final twitch of his paws the old cat lay still. Harrierstar clenched his jaw. "I'll make the announcement to the clan." He meowed. It was late but this needed to be done now. "Prepare the body for vigil." He added before stiffly walking out of the den and heading to the Scorched-Stump. "Let all cats young and old gather here for a clan announcement." He called.

"What is it now?" Featherpaw muttered, practically dragging herself from the apprentices' den out to the Scorched-Stump. She sat down angrily, mumbling some choice words under her breath.

Emeraldeye pulled down rosemary and mint from his stocks, rubbing the herbs on Briarface's still body to hide the scent of death. No matter how many herbs filled the den, he could still smell the scent of the dead deputy's body. It was a horrid smell. The thin medicine cat felt the urge to retch every time the scent hit him.

Shadowcore pulled himself out of his nest and staggered to the Scorched-Stump.

Harrierstar's call woke Vieledmist from where he snoozed near the camp's entrance. What happened? he wondered, getting up and padding into camp with leaves, twigs, and burrs clinging to his pale gray fur.

Re: FrostClan: A Dark Tomorrow

Relicheart's face was dim and ridden with sorrowful remorse as his once shaking head grew still. He knew that finishing the deputy off themselves was shameful, but they respected him too much to have him continue in agony. The large tom settled down in front of the Nursery, his massive body acting like a block to keep the nosy kits within the den.

Shadderpaw and Deltapaw walked side by side out of the apprentices den and sat down outside its entrance, watching Harrierstar from behind. Their tired gazes grew soft as they could feel the somber energy that the leader gave off, the younger of the two young cats dipping her head, while Shadderpaw caught a glimpse of Relicheart's darkened face. Automatically, he knew what had finally happened.

While her siblings slept on, Bluekit attempted to climb over Relicheart's open flank, wanting to see what was happening on the outside. "Pleeeeease!" She wheezed, her tiny paws slipping as she struggled down his back.

As for Hellspire and Quartzprickle, who seemed to have shown their faces for the first time in hours, sat a foot away from each other, not wanting to be close to one another, but both to tired to try and find a new spot to sit. Hellspire's neck had nearly completely grown all its fur back, and his dark charcoal eyes flashed at the older cat he so admired, even if she didn't show it often. Quartzprickle bore a grim face as she watched her father, completely understanding why he looked so glum. It made her feel sick to see Harrierstar in such a state that she laid her head down on her paws at an angle, just so she didn't have to fully watch the old leader speak.

"Tonight we have lost the life of a great cat, though age and sickness stole from him his life we will endeavour to remember him as the warrior he was. He was like a father to me and many other tom's I trained with. He was loyal and strong and was never afraid to give me or any other cat for that matter, a good whack if we misbehaved. With these words we ask our ancestors to bring him into their ranks and that from there he watch and guide us. Briarface was a son, mentor, mate and father and he will be dearly missed." Harrierstar stated. "I will sit vigil with him tonight and I ask his friends and family join me."

Earthshatter wiped a paw over her face to try and rub away the sadness that came with losing her grandfather.

Vieledmist's tired face grew solemn as he heard the news of the last deputy. He was not related to the tom, but he had been a great friend and the preceder of his position. Vieledmist would sit vigil.

Featherpaw suddenly felt horrible for being so annoyed at the leader's midnight meeting. He mouth grew dry and she stared at the ground. There's no way I could've known.... she thought, bringing her icy gaze, sparkling with tears, up to Harrierstar.

Shadowcore only stared sadly at the leader.

As Harrierstar made the announcement, Emeraldeye carried out Briarface's body. He was considerably lighter than a normal cat. The body smelled of sweet rosemary, but it barely covered up the stench of sickness. He would sit vigil for the cat that had spent so much time spiraling downwardly in his den.

Blueshard blinked as he listened to the words spoken. Apparently they had lost their deputy, that much he could tell. Looking around at the clan's ranks, he could tell they couldn't afford to lose too many cats. He kept silent, bowing his head in a silent prayer that the tom be received by Starclan, even if he had never known the cat. Starclan allow this tom to pass through to you, Accept him, and make him one of your own. allow him to join your ranks. Give him peace to know that his clan lives on even while he is gone. He sighed and looked up at the leader, staying silent still..

Relicheart was sure to sit vigil for the tom whom he admired so much, and had already begun to make his way over to Briarface, leaving Bluekit to tumbled off his back and land in a pile of dust.

Quartzprickle and Hellspire would also attend the vigil, knowing how well the former deputy was at teaching them during their younger years, even having them do apprentice chores as punishment when they first gained their full clan names.

As for Shadderpaw, he would have liked to sit vigil for the cat out of respect, but he knew Deltapaw didn't work well with death and would need someone to stay with her throughout the rest of the night until the vigil was over.

~

Malicepaw awoke from his dream, which seemed to have rattled him deeply. Though he couldn't remember details, he could make out the scene from before- how he had somehow become a small white kit wriggling around in a nest with another tabby kit, crying out as there wasn't a mother there to fill their empty bellies. For some reason, the dream bothered him to great enough extent that he almost wanted to wake up Enigmapaw, who was sleeping just a whisker's length away. He looked around at the setting, noting that they were deep within the Frostclan borders, probably close to the camp, if he had to guess.

Featherpaw glanced at Shadderpaw for a moment. She realized that she hadn't spoken to him in days. That didn't matter right now, though. She immediatly averted her gaze from Briarface's body, padding slowly back to the apprentices' den.

Sleetpaw watched the entire thing from her spot in the den, she closed her eyes and turned her head away, still to angry at her father to go sit with him and it wasn't like she had know Briarface.

Harrierstar sat near Briarface's head, taking solace in the peaceful look the cat had on his face.

Smokemask walked closer to Briarface's body, slowly. The tom had been a close friend of Smokemask's, and a great teacher. His eyes were shining, whether filled with tears, or simply a trick of the light, no one could say. Briarface has been his greatest teacher. Maybe it was Smokemas'k turn to pass his knowledge on to the younger cats. He knelt down by Briarface's body and murmured something softly that the old tom had told him once, when he was grieving over the death of his closest friend. Three words to describe life. "It goes on." he murmured, sadly.

"W-who?" Lavapaw asked, catching sight of the darkly colored body. "Smolderstar?" he asked, his voice quivering. He wasn't sure why, but he had actually not been expecting to really find the old tom here.

Deltapaw had noticed Blueshard on her way back to the den, and had stopped to bring him a small mouse. She dropped it quickly at his paws before shrinking away back to her dark den, curling up in her extra large nest. Her soft gaze blinked as she looked around in the darkness. She gave a slight smile as she saw Shadderpaw trudge sleepily into the den and settle down beside her in the nest, giving a yawn and tucking his head into her soft shoulder. She sighed. At least he isn't sleeping with his belly out like a slob. She slowly laid her head down and drifted off into slumber.

(Lol! Hearing Team Rocket talk about Weight Watchers just made my day -

James: Maybe we should try Weight Watchers?!
Jessie: Its too late for that!!
Meowth: I hear its never too late IF YOU STICK TO THE PROGRAAAAAAM!! XD)

As Ashenpaw rose from her deep sleep, she realized she never decided rather she should have kits or not."It would ruin your chances of being a deputy she thought, but I really want to have a family."she thought. Then it dawned on her thought even if she wanted kits she couldn't have any till she found a mate."Who would want someone like me," she thought."There is that other tom I seen the other day", she thought to herself."What was his name,"Ashenpaw thought."Haha I got it is was Owlpaw,"she remembered."Where is that handsome tom,"she thought.Grrrr! her stomach let out a load rumble."I will find him later," she thought as she padded over to get a plump rabbit.
