Thornpaw's Day Off

Thornpaw nodded "That could work then..." He thought for a few moments "But why only strike with deceased prey once? Every few days or so, you could strike, slowly sabotage their troops. Then once your ready a full out attack. Stage war with a final coup'd'tat."

"I admire your thoughts but once we do this she'll be ready for it again. It's one of the reasons this war is taking so long. We can never get her with the same trick twice. The aim here is to divert her forces, leaving her other areas weak." Raven meowed. "Once she moves her cats we will strike several spots at once, weakening her defenses even more. We also plan to capture on of her high ranking cats, try and get some information out of them."

Thornpaw nodded "You could ambush their patrols as well, thin their ranks."

There was a yowl from the old ginger she-cat and the cats began to gather. "Mouse-trap is rallying the troops. Are you ready?" He asked. His yellow eyes sparkled, finally they where striking, loosening the hold of the queen on their Alleys.

Thornpaw had a grin on his face "As ready as I'll ever be." he said. His tail flicked excited. He felt a premature shot of adrenaline shoot through him at the thought of the upcoming strike.

The cats split off into groups. "We go out first." Raven meowed. "Stick close to me, I don't need you getting lost." He added flicking Thornpaw with his tail. He made his way out into the snow, the flakes had stopped coming, he sighed, he'd been hoping for the camouflage. He turned to Thornpaw. "You managed to keep up with Mercury, so I don't doubt your stamina. This is a whole different game. If we stop for even a second it could compromise the mission. If you fall behind or trip don't try to catch up, you'll just get caught. Hide yourself, we'll come get you." He meowed. "That goes for everyone too!" He added raising his voice so they could all hear. "No cat left behind!" He called
"No cat left behind" they coursed.
Copper padded past to go with Jester, she flashed Thornpaw a wicked grin. "See you on the battle field." She meowed.

"If thigns go without a hitch there shouldn't be a need for a battle." Thornpaw mewed with a flick of his tail. "Though I wouldn't mind one.' he added with a flick of one ear. He padded closer to Ravenstrike, he wasn't sure why but the tom gave off the same aura as Pheonixtalon, and a bit of Smolderstar as well. He carried an air of natural-born authority(smolderstar), and dependability(Pheonixtalon).

The cats had taken their position. "Lets show those dirty snake hearts what a true cat can do." He meowed. He looked at the cats around him, flicked his tail twice and they were off. Dashing through the snow, tails streaming out behind and adrenalin rushing through their veins. To have your gang at your back, knowing these cats would die for you. It was a humbling thought

Thornpaw raced along Ravenstrike. His paws flew over the snow. He growled softly in anticipation as he followed Ravenstrike's lead. They had barely started running when the scent of blood of wafted to Thornpaw's snout.

The groups all split up, Raven heading the main group, they could here yowls in the distance, the 6 cats he had sent ahead had started the distraction. "Keep your paws moving soldiers!" He yowled and the cats picked up the pace. Defending the cat carrying the rat was the first step, adding to the distraction so the carriers could slip in unnoticed was the next. Two cats appeared in front of them. "Leap over them and kick their paws out from under them, they'll get trampled by the others." He meowed to Thornpaw as they ran at them. "Ready.... NOW!"

Thornpaw jumped at Ravenstrike's command. But he was distracted by the scent of blood and the cat before him was much larger then him. He ended up bowling straight into the cat's head with his shoulder. Both he and his target rolled over in a mass of cat. Thornpaw recovered his wits faster though and after delivering a sharp bite to the tom's shoulder he was up and over him, following Ravenstrike. The stench of blood grew and Thornpaw could see the cause of it up ahead. A small bloody body lay in their path.

The cats at the back of the party had dealt the finishing blows to the fallen rogues. Ravenstrike skidded to a stop. The cats behind him halting instantly at the raise of his tail. He padded forward, his eyes going wide. "Oh Ancestors." He whispered.

It was the body of a silver tabby kit. the very same one saved by Thornpaw earlier. Thornpaw came to a panting stop next to Ravenstrike and stared down, alarmed at the bloody tabby kit. The scent coming of it was its own, as well as of its families, as well as the scent of the two rogues they had just passed and most noticeably...blood.

Raven bent down over the kit and smoothed the fur between it's ears, they hadn't just killed it, the'd ripped it. It's pelt was bloody and torn and it's tail was missing. "Monsters." He meowed. He flicked his tail and a young tom padded forward. "Tiny, I know you where looking forward to this, but this kit needs to be given it's rights. Take it home." He meowed. The black and white tom nodded his head and carefully picked up the silver bundle. Raven turned t his cats. "This is why we fight! So that no kit will ever have to fear the sting of claws! Let us become this kits vengeance, let us bring justice to the monsters that did this. They do not deserve our mercy!" He yowled. The cats joined him.

Thornpaw's body pulsed with adrenaline and rage. He would murder the Rogues Queen and her forces with his own claws. No kit deserved to die, as he closed his eyes for a moment an image of Oak flashed into his mind, his dead brother. It was quickly replaced by a red screen of anger. He opened his eyes, his body quivering with trepidation.

Ravesntriek's words lit a candle inside of him. He felt the power of his words. His own heart was pounding at the short but concise speech. Was it fear? Fear of death? Somehow, with everything that had happened, death had lost some of it's mystery. Death had claimed his mother and brothers, and might very well have taken. or be poised to take, his missing sister. All in all, Death was like an uninvited guest who wouldn't leave him alone. He wasn't sure what he felt towards death now, so much as anger and resentment. He wasn't going down without a fight!

Raven turned on his heel and the charge began again, chances were the other cats had already reached the goal, that didn't matter. All that mattered now was getting that kit retribution.

Thornpaw was on Ravenstrike's heels. His paws pounded agaisnt the snow as he followed his eyes blazed with rage and anger.

The cats went over a small rise, in the back of an abandoned garden cats withered and screeched. The carrier from their group barged through the cats, no one noticed as he slipped inside to taint the prey. Raven yowled and the cats surged forward, baring down on the rogues.
A large black cat watched it all from the fence, he was covered in scars and his eyes shone red. Raven thought it was Razor at first, but this cat had both his ears. The cat took one more look and leaped away, off to tell the Queen.
(I hope you know who I'm describing, it is your character. And sorry for taking control, I needed him for this scene.)

Thornpaw rushed forward, too caught in the heat of battle to notice the scar covered black tom. The young tabby leaped at another cat barring their way. It was a gray cat a little older then him.

The black tom slipped through a hole silently. He knew where the queen would be, she would be entertaining the forest cat at the tournament now. He turned off in the direction of where the queen should be.

(Yeah you can join the other one. They're a couple hours apart with the other rp being a little later in the night. Since Mew left we can't do much but feel free to join in. I set him up as Razor's cousin since they look alike.)

Raven let out a yowl and his cats surrounded the remaining rogues. "Who here wants to live!" He called. They had lost 9 cats, Raven had lost none. The cats trembled as he set a stern look on his face. Argentum had called it his Boomer face, no best not to think about Argentum or his father. The cats raised their tails. He saw these where just gatherers, they would know nothing, and they could be rehabilitated, or given to a two-leg. But wait, three of the remaining six where feigning their fear. Raven nodded too them and several of his cats stalked forward, cutting to of their throats and dragging the last to Raven's feet. "Hello spy, good of you to join us."
"Rot in the dark forest." She snarled.
"You're the only one going there. Take her away, we'll question her later. You three." He turned to the remaining cats. "You want out?" He asked.
The cats nodded.
"Jester, take them to the vet." He meowed. The patch work tom nodded and gathered his cats around him, they went over to the remaining three and lead the away. As Copper walked past she grinned at her father and Thornpaw. "We're one step closer to victory!" she purred as they padded away.

(( Wait, what!? the other one is Few hours later later. So right now Petalmist wouldn't be there yet...Hmm...??))

(In this rp she would have just started towards the tournament. So yes Scar would know she was there and what the Queen was planning. Since Razor has fallen from grace Scar has probably risen up a bit )

The scarred black tom paused in his steps, as a thought came to mind. Instead of telling the queen, why not take care of it himself? No need to trouble the queen, besides if all went well, his standing would improve with the queen.

(naw we can't really do that without Mew.)

Raven looked at the cats around him. "We have won this battle, but this war is still raging around us. Yet we can not savor this victory for the longer we stay here the higher the chance the Rogue-Queen will rally her forces. So we must leave... for now. You all know the next part of our plan, so here we go our separate ways." The cats nodded and formed into smaller groups. Raven turned to Thornpaw. "We must return to our temporary base and wait for reinforcements. And I have to send you home." He meowed

Scar wandered the base of the Rogue queen. He couldn't find his slashers or the queen. Both seemed to elude him.

Thornpaw's claws were bloody and licked blood of his lips before looking up at Ravenstrike with a dejected expression. "I suppose I do have to go back..." He muttered.
