Foxtail's pic looks amazing! I love the way her tail looks so bright like that, mixed with the fact the rest of her's black and that the backround is also a darker shade. Thanks, Rose!

Instructions for using them.

Save picture to desktop as PNG file.
You'll have to Download GIMP(It's free!) Because the background is transparent and you need to use layers.(If you have Photoshop you wont need to download gimp.)

You should use two layers, the first is the lineart and the second where you put the colour. The colour layer should be BELOW the lineart layer, otherwise it wont work. If your feeling arty you can use other layers to add shadows and highlights, but it's hard.

Have fun with them Very Happy

(Also if the checker transparent background is giving you a headache, make ANOTHER layer and put it below them all and use the paint bucket tool to fill it with a colour that wont, like a cool blue, or green, or purple. Also never use solid black, use very dark grey, red or blue.)

YES!
It's the layering that's got me...
I'm trying to do Rubypaw, and red cat. I'm using outline 2, because she has a bushy tail.
So, I add a new layer after layer one(The outline)
BUT IT WON'T STOP MESSING UP THE OUTLINE!
The only way I've figured out to do it is to mess with the opacity, which fucks up my perfect shade of red T_T

Try using Paint. net, it's what I'm using and its working it pretty well. Though my art skillz suck.

Hmm, are you moving the layer so it's below layer one, you just have to drag it below.

Is the problem that the colour is going over the lines?

I finished. Don't like how the scars came out. And Thonrheart's fur is a bit too reddish, its actually brown. I suck at art stuff....

Ok here's your problem Tor, you didn't put the second layer Under the original layer.

When you open up Gimp there should be three windows. Tools, image and layers.
On the layers there should be something like this

See the little arrow to the right of Layers Click that and go to layers menu select new layer, press ok when a little screen pops up that's just about the size.

It should no look like this.

Click and hold 'new layer' then drag it below Background(which is the line art.)

it should now look like this

Now do all the colouring on 'New Layer' and it should be fine.

Oh god, my pic is a horrible representation of Thornheart, I butchered it so bad. >.<
This avvie you made, that's a way better example of how to color him.
Besides the eye marking, he's pretty much just a bigger then average tabby cat. With normal tabby stripes and stuff.
I might make a detailed description of him later. But Pff, I suck at art.
