Cold Blades of Truth (A Percy Jackson RP)

Katniss was studying the pum in her hand quite intently. "Yes, very possible. But Jaxel seems fine for now, and there's really nothing we can do about it. How about we wait awhile, and if he's fine we can assume their safe," She said stragetically, thoughts coursing through her brain. She didn't really care at the moment, but she knew she would worry after a minute of thinking it through.

"That just means their not poisoned." Haru pointed out. "It doesn't mean that no one cast an enchantment over them, so that once eaten a person can't leave. "

"Good point. Well, let's see if Jaxel can leave after a few more minutes," Katniss said simply. Her brother was annoying, but at least he was right.

Haru frowned slightly. How had his stupid sister been made leader? Even the daughter of Phobos, and the one of Hades seemed smarter then her. He glanced around the orchard and his eyes fell onto Jaxel. Ahhh, that's why. Everything made sense to him, his half-sister was lovesick.

Shuda took a seat at the foot of a tree, his axe rested in his lap and he was sliding the whetstone across it, sharpening it's blade.

Katniss's assumption was right. After a few moments of thinking through all the outcomes of eating the plums, she began to worry. What if Jaxel would never leave? What if he died? She put a calm look on her face, and put her back to the tree's main, thick trunk while letting her legs rest on a smaller, yet sturdy, branch. She contemplated if this might have happened if Luna, Sheba, Shuda, Jaxel, or even Haru had led the mission. Probably the same outcome, she thought glumly.

"Haru, you do know that some poisons take time to take affect, right?" Luna sighed. "It's happened before- someone eats something that could be poisoned. They're fine for awhile and other people eat it, feeling safe. Then, BAM; a day later everyone's dead. Then half of them blame the one who tried it first."

Priscilla punched Jaxal in the shoulder, accidentally send a shock down his arm. "Nice going, moron." she scoffed. "Don't die on me. If you die on me, i'll bring you back to life to kill you again."

Jaxal grunted, not wanting to talk about anything as he was worried he'd say something something and screw up again. Settling down at the base of one of the plum trees, he pulled his black leather jacket over himself and tried to get some sleep. "We all should. If I'm alive in the morning, then the plums are fine. If not, you guys leave and continue the quest."

Sheba gazed at Jaxal, her pale grey eyes showing little emotion. She didn't like the Dionysus cabin leader, but she agreed with what he was saying. Sighing, she pulled up a middle sized rock and rested her head on it, trying to ignore the stabbing pain it sent down her neck from the base of her skull. At least it would keep her head elevated rather than it laying flat in the grass. Pulling her sword close, she yawned, her tired gaze traveling from Jaxal, to Katniss, then to Luna, then Shuda, then Haru, and finally Priscilla. Seeing all of them around her, she felt less alone, but still.......It seemed sooo......desolate.

Katniss tried to hide a chuckle at what Priscilla said. She rested against a different, more comfortable branch. It wasn't the best thing, but at least it would do. She was used to sleeping in trees. Trees were her refuge, her gateway from life to her own world in which she could just think, like any daughter of Athena would want to.

Haru watched as the campers got ready to sleep. Did no one want to keep a watch? If anyone had poisoned the plums, or enchanted they were bound to be near. Not to mention the fact that so many demi-gods in one place would surely attract monsters. Haru's eyes flicked from the various camper's, his eyelids feeling heavy.
Shuda drew the whetsone over his axe one last time, before pocketing the stone, and after glancing around the clearing, put it down, sideways against the ground, the handle resting against his leg. Soon the son of Athena approached him, and they ahd a conversation which ended up in Haru sleeping and Shuda taking first watch.
Haru walked away from the Hepehastus boy and sat down at the foot of a tree, his head fell back, and he quickly fell asleep.

After gazing at the stars and sending a silent prayer to the gods, Katniss dozed off into a light sleep. She started dreaming a really wierd dream.
Katniss was in a field of long, wavy grass, standing up and gazing at a far-away shape that was glowing with moonlight. She walked slowly towards the shape, unable to conciously control her legs. Before long she realized it as a human figure, slumped over. She poked it tentatively with her foot, and it disengrated into dust. "What the hell?" She murmered to herself, kicking around the purple dust. Why it it purple? She thought, but that wasn't really the important thing. She just needed to figure out WHAT THE HELL WAS GOING ON! Suddenly she saw another shape in the pale white light that shone from the sky. It was.....a cat. Yes, she was sure it was a cat. A black-pelted cat with somber ice-blue eyes and a white chest. "Go." The cat flicked his tail as he sat down at Katniss's feet. "No," She replied simply. "Go. Now," The cat hissed, a flicker of anger dancing in the eyes that looked like they would be cold to the touch. "I'm not leaving," Katniss said, clenching her fists.
Then the dream ended, and Katniss awoke with the sensation of falling.

Luna sat down at the base of the tree she'd been leaning on. She noticed Shuda was keeping watch, so she tried to get some sleep. But annoying thoughts kept bouncing around in her head. She kept thinking about the quest itself, the prophecy, this place, what could happen to Jaxal, monsters that could attack them... Finally, she managed to drift off into a light sleep.

"Shit!" Katniss's yell rang through the whole orchard as she grabbed onto the branch right before plummeting to the ground. She hauled herself back up shakily, and noticed Shuda was on watch. "'Sup?" She asked causually, her voice back to normal in just a few seconds.

Priscilla pulled a bright yellow, fuzzy blanket from out of her black back-pack. She curled up at the base of an empty tree, blanket wrapped warmly around her. She closed her eyes, slowly. She looked peaceful, like a little girl who'd fallen asleep at the base of a tree after a long day of play, just waiting for her mother to carry her into the house for a good night's rest. Unluckly, that wasn't the case. Priscilla had drifted off into a fitful slumber.

She dreamed of horrors beyond imagination. Monsters ripping out her companions' throats, darkness swallowing Jaxal up, Katniss getting her spine pulled out of her body, the pain and terror in her friends' faces. But worst of all, her sister getting eaten alive from her feet then all the way up to her head.

Priscilla woke with a sharp yelp.

"Ack!" Luna's electric blue eyes immeadiately sprang open, and she groped for her sword before she was even fully awake. She stopped and looked up at Katniss. "What the hell was that?" she asked indignantly. Now it would take her even longer for her to get back to sleep.

Shuda raised an eyebrow "Someone's just having nightmares." he said. "Go back to sleep." he added. His large axe was resting comfortably in his grasp. He had switched to a standing position and his axe was upside down, the point at the top of where the two blades joining poking into the ground.

"Nope, once I wake up you're stuck with me. I'll keep watch if you want some sleep," She said, shrugging slightly.

Priscilla shivered violently, as the image of her nightmares glued to her mind. Her face was a ghostly pale and full of terror. She turned around and began to hurl in a nearby trashcan.

Shuda shrugged "If you say so. Wake me up when you get sleepy." he sheathed his axe, and took a seat at the foot of a tree. He closed his eyes.

(There are trashcans in plum orchards 0.0)

Katniss nodded simply, and nimbly climbed down from her tree, landing on the ground without a single noise. "Sweet dreams," she said bitterly.

(My fingers are very shaky today because of the 3 brownies, shitload of icecream, and half a bag of sunflower seeds(extra salty) I just finished Twilight of the warriors series and I can;t stop being sad.)

Sheba blinked her eyes softly, their tired grey color dim with exhaustion. "Wah...Errrrk." She struggled to keep her eyes open when she began to speak more clearly. "Ugggg....could you guys keep those...nightmares....to yourselves. They keep......waking me."

"Sorry, not like I can control my fucked up dreams," Katniss retorted irritably. She was always irritable when she was worried.

Sheba sighed, closing her eyes and resting her head back on the rock, causing her to wince in pain once again. She shuffled, pulling her tied up hair free from its little black band, the violet strands looking the color of a dark poisonous smog as they coiled around her neck. Her hat fell to the moss soft grass, landing by the sword that seemed to shutter at the energy of the fears of others.

Jaxal lay sleeping, as if there was nothing that could wake...his skin pale and body cold. His bleached blonde hair fluttered in the nighttime breeze, the sickeningly sweet scent of plum wafting through the air.
