Legends

Legend tells of when the world was one. Even the continents came together in the seemingly endless peace and the people lived in harmony on the world called Domce.

One day, two men began arguing. It was not a huge disagreement, but it turned into a brawl. A single drop of blood spilled onto the ground and the entire world shook. Volcanos erupted, spewing lava over villages, the coastal towns were ruined as tidal waves destroyed the shores. Tornadows and hurricanes ravaged the land and huge earthquakes shook the world to the very core.

The elements were at war. The continents split into four, ripping apart and spreading far across the land. The continents were called Fol, Bai, Fear, and Bron.

The world was in chaos. No one knew what to do, so they fought. Some lived in small packs, feeding off of the fear of others. Some lived on their own, stealing for a living.

One day, a young girl thought that this must not be all there is to life! She grew watching others steal, watching people kill each other, and thought that it was wrong.

This girl's name was Muire, a girl growing up on the continent Bron, which was a rather violent one, compared to the others. She wanted to find what life truly meant, and she traveled to the top of the highest mountain in Bron. She was met there by a tall man, who gave her an enchanted sword and transported her into the world known only as the Nether Dimension.

In the Nether Dimension, she could detect the demons that plagued the planet and was sent to destroy them. Fighting her way to the core of the battle between the elements, she found four vaguely humanoid beings locked in combat- Scorch, Vortex, River and Quake. She engaged these in battle and sealed them inside another being of the Nether- the goddess of Nature and the Elements, Alirak.

However, in traveling to the Nether Dimension to free the world, she abandoned all hopes of ever returning to her world. Her Nether Soul was locked inside the sword of light that the man had given her, which was still inside our world. Her body was destroyed.


That legend has been passed down in the lands of Bron, Fol, Bai, and Fear for generations. It is believed that whoever claims the Sword of Light will inherit Muire's title as Hero of the Gods, but no one knows where the sword lies.

Strange creatures have begun to appear, creatures of the shadows that appear at night. Children have been disappearing into the night, never to be seen again. Recently, things have been getting worse. The shadow creatures have gotten bolder and have even begun coming out in broad daylight, though they are weaker at that time. Still, they grow stronger the more time that passes, and the more victims that they devour.

Heroes from the four continents are being called to Bron to search for the sword, no matter what their background is or what god they worship. The world is in need and it's time for action.


GODS -

Elias, God of Trade and Wealth - Elias is the god of everything in exchange, from hugs to bartering. He'll gladly help you out... for a price. Grants his worshippers charismatic attitudes at will (great for bartering) and a higher chance at finding valuables in the wild.

Alirak, Goddess of Nature and the Elements - Alirak has four servants, those locked inside her in the Nether Dimension. She is the goddess of nature and animals, and her worshippers are granted with the ability to calm animals- they cannot be attacked by animals in the wild. Also, in moments of dire need, they are transformed into powerful elementals depending on the situation.

Eroin, God of War and the Dead - Eroin is in charge of war and death and delights in his work. His worshippers are granted with heightened fighting abilities and the ability to bring a dead friend back to life... at the cost of their own life.

Arkelna, Goddess of Shadows and Thieves - Arkelna gladly guides thieves and spies to their destinations and is crafty and sly. Her worshippers are granted with extreme stealth and can easily sneak in and out of areas without being detected.

Mactir, God of Light and Nobility - Brother of Arkelna, Mactir frowns upon his sister's shadowy trade and is the strange man who gave Muire the Sword of Light. He is a friend of heroes and his worshippers are granted with a pure heart, and in turn, a steady mind.

More gods possibly to be added.


The Keepers -
The Keepers are sort of sub-gods. They take the form of animals and interact more directly with humans. They do not require worshippers to give their blessings and will bestow power upon those that they deem worthy.

Ursar, Keeper of Strength and Determination - Ursar takes the form of a great bear. He bestows powers on people that stand determined in even the most dire of situations.

Sbona, Keeper of Wisdom and Quick Thinking - Sbona (pronounced Soe-nuh) takes the form of an eagle. She bestows powers on people that attempt to be wise, even if they sort of... fail.

Chaos, Keeper of the Unpredictable - Chaos has no true form and constantly shifts from animal to animal. He rarely bestows his blessing and when he does, he does it randomly, but when he does, the benefits are extremely powerful.

CURRENT SITUATION -
Since Muire's homeland was Bron, that is where the Sword of Light is believed to be, though the search will take our heroes far across the four continents in search for the weapon that can save them from the evil creatures.

Personality: Gruff and easily annoyed, Cory isn't accustomed to interacting with people and snaps at them a lot.
Appearance: Tall, with dark black hair that's messy, as if he doesn't take the time to brush it in the mornings. His eyes are dark green and he wears casual villager clothes.

Personality: Fletch is naive and sees the good in everyone, even if it's not there. She has an aversion to killing and is innocent beyond comprehension.
Appearance: She's short and helpless-looking, with big brown eyes that examine everything with intent curiosity. She has short brown hair and wears adventurer clothes... you know what I mean.
Crush?: Nope.
Worships (only one): Mactir, God of Light and Nobility
Other: Carries a bow and arrows and a dagger, though she hardly uses them.

Snow fell around a young girl in a flurry of white and cold as she marched towards a large gathering of people from all over the world situated in a small valley of the continent Bron. This valley was one of the only places in Bron where it didn't snow all year round, and was quite beautiful in the summer, but it was winter now.

Those who lived in Bron were dressed significantly lighter than those from other continents- they were accustomed to the freezing cold weather. The girl was no exception. The snow crunched underfoot as she approached the many people.

She didn't want to be here- she'd much rather stay at home and leave the hardcore adventuring to the stronger and more... violent... people, but her parents pressured her to go. They slapped a bow and arrows and a dagger on her and kicked her out the door.



Elias sat crossed legged in the snow, his large sword resting across his lap. The sword had several ancient runes from long ago etched into them that were told to give power to any who wielded them... pretty interesting, but a bunch of crap.

It sure wasn't like this on Fear. Back at home, only the mountains were covered with snow, the rest were deserts or coasts. The coasts were enjoyable enough and that's where most Fearians built their towns and villages, but the deserts were deadly and held many dangers other than dehydration...

Ageha shivered his hands clasped around his biceps and his body pulled tight. Unlike most of the people here, he was only wearing leather breeches, a cotton shirt and a cloak. He pulled the cloak tight around him as his teeth chattered, and he trembled in the cold.

"S-so cold." Ageha muttered, his teeth clicking together. He glanced around at the other people, sizing them up. Most seemed to be dressed heavier with him, as if they had been prepared for the weather. Though he noted a few people like him, though looking significantly less cold. He was feeling a bit anxious, though confident. He was sure he could take anyone here in a fight....if he would ever get the chance. He would freeze to death before that!

Fletch glanced around, hesitantly lifting her bow and holding an arrow in the opposite hand, warily watching the people around her. She had been told that it was dangerous- people probably would kill to eliminate the competition in getting the Sword. Not everyone was in it for the good of the world- in reality, most people were there to get their hands on the sword or sell it.

Fletch, on the other hand, wasn't about to let the gift from Mactir be disgraced in this manner! She was at least going to get the sword and pass it on to someone with more skill...


Elias looked up at a man that was wearing nothing to protect himself from the cold. "Idiot." He grumbled to himself, rolling his eyes.

A tall young woman threaded her way easily through the crowds, safe to say she left a line of people angrily looking for their coin purses. Her eyes flickered this way and that. That sword, the ultimate prize. She'd be famous, she'd be no common pickpocket once she got that sword. Someone bumped into her and tried to filch her own coin purse. She grabbed the boys arm and twisted it behind his back, shoving him to the ground. "There's you pickpocket!" she announced then flitted off through the crowd, all the while muttering about amateurs.

She'd grown bored of the easy pickings and slipped away to count her haul, buy the weight of some of the purses she could tell she would eat well tonight.

Sanala didn't like crowds, in fact she hated crowds. "I don't know why you said I should come here Jinx, I don't like it. It's too crowded." She muttered stroking the black cats head. Jinx blinked up at her and seemed to smirk, well if cats could smirk. She clutched the amulet at her neck and muttered a prayer.

Fletch entered the large crowd, able to dodge the people without much effort. She was quick and agile, and small enough to go unnoticed in most cases as she clutched her bow in one hand.

A tall man stood over the crowd. Clearing his throat, he began speaking. His voice carried over the huge group. "As you have probably seen, strange things have been happening. Unnatural things." He trailed off, then continued. "We called you here because there is only one more thing to do- we must chase down a legend. I'm sure everyone knows the story of Muire and the Sword of Light? In short, Muire's soul was locked inside a powerful sword of the gods, and we believe that this sword is the only thing that can fix this.

Now, the reason for this gathering is so that no hero must travel alone. Stay here for the night, find friends to travel with and in the morning it will be time to go. Where you go is up to you.

May the gods smile upon you."

Sanala stood on her toes to see the man speaking. "The Sword of Light" She said. "Is it real?" She asked, some people gave her strange looks, as she was talking to her cat. Jinx didn't answer, but she did dip her head. Sanala looked around and pushed her way from the crowd. She needed to discuss with Jinx what she would do. She had never travelled with others before.

Trianna ran a gloved hand through her hair. "Friends? I don't need any." She muttered as she listened to the speech.

Ageha shivered more, as a particularly icy wind flew by. Ageha silently listened to the man's word. Ageha blinked, he had to make friends to travel with? That shouldn't be too hard. He started glancing around for any people who might want to be his friend.

"Hey, you look cold." Fletch said, dashing to stand next to Ageha and pulling an extra fur coat out of her backpack. "I kept it in case I lost this one or in case we got trapped in a blizzard." She pushed the coat in his direction.

"Thanks!" Ageha beamed, eyes wide with gratitude. He snatched the coat from her eagerly and quickly shrugged it on. he felt more warmer instantly, as now no longer was the wind beating on him so heavily. He grinned at the girl "Thanks a lot. I'm Ageha by the way." he said. He had a feeling he had made his first travelling friend.

"No problem. It's pretty cold here." Fletcher replied, glancing around. She sun was lowering in the sky. "I'm Fletch." She said, holding her hand out for a handshake, while putting her bow away with the other hand. Her face was slightly covered by a leather hood and she wore a long sleeved cloth shirt underneath a leather vest underneath another layer- her coat, which she would take off once they arrived somewhere less cold. She also wore leather pants with fur on the inside to keep her legs warm and leather snow boots. Most of this was made by her cousin, a good leatherworker in a nearby village. Family got discounts.


(Oh dear god I'm listening to dramatic movie preview music. IT MAKES ME WANT TO ADVENTUUUUUUURE.

I'm also gonna add new benefits for followers of Alirak. Just not being attacked by animals is kind of a sucky power up.

And I might add another god or two. :3)

Sanala was walking around, hands tucked into the sleeves of her robe, she'd let her hair down to keep the back of her neck warm and it was being flung around by the wind. Strangely enough she didn't seem effected by the cold. Jinx was laying around her neck prompting a few people to ask Sanala where she'd gotten the lovely fur scarf, they got nasty surprise when the black cat raised her head and fixed them with an icy stare. "That looks promising." She said looking over to where Fletcher was speaking to Ageha. "Here goes nothing." She murmured.

She made her way slowly too the two people, face to the ground she managed not to bump into anyone. "Um hi." She said when she got close enough. "I'm.. Sanala."

Ageha managed to exchange a firm handshake with Fletch. He had at least worn gloves, made of a dark black leather. The gloves were worn though, but he had a few spare pairs in his pack. Ageha looked up at the newcomer, making friends was way easier then he thought. "Ageha." he said, his eyes flicking to the mass of fur around her neck. "Is that a......cat?" he asked.

(( Although Ageha's not a follower of Alirak, animals tend to like him :3 . Cus his mind is ridiculously simple.))

Fletcher turned around as Sanala approached. "Oh, hi there!" She said. "I'm Fletch." She introduced herself without a second thought and continued talking. "Man, this is exciting. Sure, it will be dangerous, but we get to search for one of the most powerful artifacts ever. In the history of everything!" She bounced up and down excitedly, her hood falling back and revealing her face.


Elias lifted his head when he noticed a little girl bouncing up and down in the snow next to the boy from earlier, who was now wearing a jacket. "What in the name of Ursar?" He grumbled, lifting his huge rune-engraved sword and placing it in its sheath across his back. He dusted some snow off of himself and fixed his gloves so that the were pulled up farther onto his hand. They had begun to slip again. Stupid worthless crappy things.

"Ah yeah, this is Jinx. She's been with me since I was little." Sanala said scratching the cats head. Jinx raised her head and studied the two people. She seemed to shrug and then put her head back down. "She'll grow on you." She said chuckling. "It is pretty exciting. I mean, I've heard all the legends but now where going to live it." She said and smiled slightly.

Trianna was about to move on when someone(Elias) pushed past her. "Do you mind!" She snapped grabbing at his sleeve.

"You shouldn't have stood in my way. Move along now and I'll be on my way." Elias growled, pulling his arm away and turning to glare at Trianna. His eyes narrowed in an intimidating manner as he prepared for a possible fight, hand absentmindedly traveling up to the hilt of his sword.


"Oh, it is exciting, but we should get some sleep before doing anything. I doubt I'll get any sleep though." Fletcher continued bouncing up and down, the snow crunching beneath her feet. "I just hope we don't get caught in any blizzards. Bron's pretty well known for their really bad blizzards. A friend of mine got trapped in one once. Had to cut off her arm. She survived, thankfully..." Fletch shivered, shaking her head. "And there are snow wolves and the such..."

"Wolves?" Ageha asked. He had never seen a wolf, only heard tales of them. "Awesome!" he grinned. "I can't wait till tomorrow. I want to start exploring this place already."

( Bai is one of the most ideal places to settle with cool but not cold atmosphere and forests everywhere and plenty of rivers. It's essentially flat and has no mountains or valleys. It has a HUGE lake smack dab in the middle of the continent called the Lake of Bai.

I'll write these all down later. Wildlife is reclusive but the wild populations are dense where they are found. They include bears, various types of birds, and a few... unknown species. )

"Yeah, the snow wolves are nasty pieces of work." Fletch shook her head. "You can hardly see them, the blend in with the snow so well. You don't know they're there until they're practically on top of you, ripping your throat out." She shivered at the thought of one of those beasts. "But it's starting to get dark and it gets really cold during the night. We should set up camp and light a fire and stuff."

(( Woah, elementals, and keepers sound epic, especially chaos ))

Ageha grinned, although sure that a snow wolf couldn't hold a bone to some of their bears ravaging his continent. "It is pretty cold." Ageha agreed. "Let's find a camping spot." he added, shifting the pack on his shoulders. He had packed a lot, and the rough straps were starting to cut into his skin. His elbow hit the sword hilt at his side, as he shrugged the straps on his shoulders.

Fletcher nodded, glancing around for a places where the snow wasn't as soft, so they'd have an easier time getting the fire and tents set up. It wasn't very hard and she found an ideal place within minutes of beginning to search. "Hey, over here." She called to Ageha. "And you can stay here with us too, Sanala, if you want." She began unpacking her backpack, swinging it in front of her and plopping it down on the ground.

Ageha followed her. He dropped his pack onto the ground, and unsheathed a hunting knife from his belt, it was a blade, about 3 inches wide and a foot and a half long. It had a black leather sheath, and part of the back of the blade had large jagged teeth. Ageha always had an assortment of blades, with him. Although he tended to rely on his fists in a fight.

(Mmm.. Not sure how to really bring my characters in at this point, especially with a timeskip. Help? XD)
