FrostClan: A Dark Tomorrow

Quartzprickle dropped the herbs. "I thought I take what was left there besides the dying bits. That's how I got this gash on my neck. I slipped and cut it on a brick. There's also chervil." She swished her tail, her eyes as to say 'don't ask anymore questions.'

"A gash like that from a brick? This definately isn't your lucky day. Stay there while I get some marigold for that." He was wise not to inquire any further about the gash's origins.

Quartzprickle sighed and nodded, sitting down on the hard ground. She wondered how things may be between her and Blueshard now, but she'd rather not think of it. However, she did find herself wondering about Vieledmist and why he was needing Shadderscream and Hellspire.

Emeraldeye easily found his supply of marigold, grimacing as he saw how low it would soon become. We don't need a battle any time soon, he thought, unaware still of the Boulderclan skirmish. He chewed the herb and applied it to Quartzprickle's wound, knowing well that it would sting.

Quartzprickle grunted, but clenched her teeth and sat still, waiting for the sting to pass. "T-thanks Emeraldeye." She then got up and left the den without another word, heading for the fresh kill pile, belly rumbling with the pain of hunger.

Blueshard is still sitting out in the camp (just a filler post cause I'm off and on but still here)

(Rose?! Welcome back!! Alright, I'll attempt to recap: during the hunter apprentices' test, Shadderscream and Hellspire returned from a small fight with Boulderclan. After meeting up with Veiledmist, they report that they've enraged the clan by accidentally killing one of Lunarstar's lives. They are currently now waiting for Harrierstar. Also, Featherpaw and Deltapaw have returned to camp with their catches, however, there was a short scene where Deltapaw was out in the forest and telling Sourkit to go home. After that, on her own way home, she found Shadowcore with two rogues and they pinned her, threatening her until Sourkit came to her supposed rescue. Then Bluekit followed her bro's scent, the rogues took off, and the cats returned to camp. As for Featherpaw, she was escorted back by Relicheart. Quartzprickle, still out in the forest as she monitors the hunt session, runs into a bored Blueshard and the two have a bit of a hunting contest after a quick squabble of wise words. After the contest, Quartzie takes off to follow Sleetpaw, making a comment that she can't leave Earthshatter to follow the rest of the apprentices, and Blueshard begins his trip back to camp, but he has this bad feeling, so he quickly turns around and follows Quartz's scent, finding her under attack by a Boulderclan apprentice while two other Boulderclan warriors stand watching. Blueshard thinks he's being slick by hiding in the underbrush, but the warriors quickly find him and crush him from standing on his back. After a few seconds of struggling, Quartz makes the odd comment that the female apprentice that she was being attacked was nearly stronger than any of her own clan's warriors, the apprentice hesitates, blushing from the praise- Gingerpaw had heard of Quartzie before from her friends at the last Gathering. The two warriors then regain their sense of honor and apologize for the attack. Quartz will allow this as long as they send Gingerpaw back with a large clump of Catmint and Chervil, which she does a few minutes later after a return to her own camp. Quartz and Blueshard also head home and Quartz goes to visit Emeraldeye, who asks no questions about the herbs or the wounds his friend has aquired. After being patched up, though she's currently still in camp, Quartzie's about to head back out to continue watching the test. Also note, Quartzie is wet from swimmin in the river as a show-off to Blueshard. On another note, though both Malicehaze and myself has no clue why, it seems Ripsnarl is Enigmaheart's mate.

So yeah, that all happened around during the same time so sorry if the sequence was a bit confusing. We kinda had to come up with ways to create our own excitement till you returned

Also you guys, I have a word from Chibi. She's Bo. The best RPer for cats, so she's quitting the Frostclan RP and is staying in all the others, something about that she's better with RPing humans. So she came up with the story that somehow Fatalspawn died, Mangopae and Pinkiepaw live in Boulderclan, and Golden just could handle clan life and left.)

(Ok that works, well for the finish of my hunting test I'll need to have Sleetpaw run into Blazesoul then she heads home. So Gh -looks around-)

Sleetpaw pounced forward her paws crushing the vole under her, she quickly broke it's neck and buried it under the snow. One more, just one more and she would pass, well probably. In her haste to find prey she'd stalked closer and closer to the FlameClan border

"You two better have a good explanation for this." The old tom growled, staring down Shadderscream and Hellspire. The bright yellow stare that made even the toughest warriors shake in their fur. "How in StarClan's NAME did you take one of Lunarstar's lives!" He snarled.

(I'm just going to assume they are in his den being yelled at at the moment.)

Shadderscream winced and chocked out,"We were walking over to mark the border when we saw Onyxpebble showing his apprentice, Oakenpaw, and her brother, Koipaw, how to mark their own borders. However, as they did that, the fourth cat on their patrol was marking too close to our territory and Hellspire just leaped out at the- he didn't even see the fourth cat. H-he didn't mean to actually attack them- only startle them off. B-but the cat- he saw at the last moment and lurched backwards, under Hellspire. Then there was blood and fur everywhere and Onyxpebble ran at me. I only got a scratch on him before he followed after the fleeing apprentice. But the last cat, Lunarstar.....the one who fought Hellspire.....he-" However, despite looking fearful, the young tom was quite more brave-sounding, wearing a sterner gaze than Hellspire, at least.

((Fallenshadow's kits~ Tor, you said you wanted a she-cat, right?

Fallenshadow rested in the nursery - or tried to, anyway. Her copper eyes were closed, but her ears were tipped back to listen to her kits fighting over her tail.

One of them, Aspenkit, was actually standing on her slightly smaller brother's belly, him having been rolled over when Fallenshadow shifted and bumped him with a paw. She precariously raised herself onto her hind paws and managed to grab her mother's silky tail in her front ones an instant before Shalekit took advantage of her position. With a loud, protesting mew and a yelp, it was Shalekit on top, smiling triumphantly.

"Surrender and you will be spared, helpless she-cat." He pressed his dark paws into the pure white fur of her chest.

Aspenkit swatted at his nose. "Help me," she cried out in mock fear.

"I'll save you!" A tiny voice cried, charging Shalekit playfully. She carelessly batted his ears with her forepaws, giggling. "Look, Fallenshadow! I'm good enough to be a warrior!" She meowed excitedly, but she was, of course, joking. She knew her fate led nowhere but to the path of a hunter.

Miasmakit snorted, waltzing past the thrashing brood of new arrivals, rolling her eyes at how quickly the three had matured at being barely one moon old, her crimson eyes flashing as she sat down in her nest. "Really? Why would you ever want to blood-stain those preciously pampered kit-paws of yours? A she-cat of your caliber is only good for breeding, if at all. Just either your mother or I," the young, dark cat meowed snarkily, her tone huffy and light as she pulled one small paw up to her small, pink, lolling tongue to clean the thick tufts between each toe, her odd slender and feathered, ringed tail wavering.

Blackkit scuffled with a vole as long as the small cat himself, thrashing viciously with tooth and claw until the piece of prey was laying in tatters, its cold, clumpy blood pooling out in thick clods. With a satisfactory, snarling grin, the rambunctious tom sank his teeth into the defeated carcass, leaving all those around to watch as he destroyed an already dead victim with such ferocity, then rip its throat out to snack upon the string, chilled tendrils. At this age, many of the clan's cats grew wary of the tiny tom, for fear that his short, wiley temper would lead to powerful ambition. And they could tell that his own sister could sense it the most.

"Hellspire" Harrierstar gritted his teeth. "Did no-one ever teach you to look before you leap? YOU COULD HAVE BROUGHT WAR ON US, IN LEAF-BARE FOR STARCLAN'S SAKE!" He lashed out with a paw, cuffing the tom over the ear. "This is a time for all the clans to act civil, I assume you at least know what that means!"
"Hellspire you are confined you your den until such a time as I can sort this all out, Shadderscream you will be on night guard duty for the next half-moon. Now both of you get out of my sight, and I'll take no lip from you Hellspire!" He added at the end, knowing the tom would probably try and make some remark.

"Veiledmist! I need you in here, NOW!"

(Harrierstar is not pleased by this turn of events)

The two toms backed out of the den, ears pinned back from their leader's tongue-lashing, tails dropped.

"So...at least you have a break. Heh." Shadder mewed in a nervously joking manner.

"Oh shut up!" Hellspire snorted back, chuckling in a deep voice as if to try and ignore the fact that he couldn't leave the warriors den.

(Short post is tired post. Tor, getcha ass on and go talk to Harrierstar!!!)

Vieledmist tentatively padded into the den. "Yes, Harrierstar?" He asked, sitting down with his tail wrapped around his delicate, gray paws. He couldn't look more regal.

Miasmakit snorted and laid her head down, turning away from the others, not caring if they could understand her comment or not. However, she knew their mother could both hear and understand her crude judgement.

Blackkit quickly ravished down the remainder of his meal, licking his bloodied lips and his eyes moving hungrily to the pile. Lean muscles rippling beneath his pelt, the kit stalked over to the fresh kill pile in a smooth strut and dove in, disappearing. Then after a moment of being gone, the small cat returned with a warm shrew and a clammy jay. Throwing them down, he buried his frighteningly sharp and monstrous jaws into the warmer piece of meat, ripping and shredding the poor creature from the inside out, gulping down the flesh and gore in leisurely fashion, completely unconcerned at how the other clanmembers, both younger and older than himself, may feel about the graphic scene taking place in the middle of their camp clearing.

(Question: When will be the next Gathering?)

"I'm not only good for breeding! I can hunt, too!" Risingkit mewled indignantly. She hopped from Shalekit to a crunchy leaf that had been blown into the nursery earlier. "See! I can jump really far!" It was far for a kit; she had powerful hind legs that, while not fully grown yet, could carry her farther than normal.

Shalekit had recoiled from Risingkit's attack, and now stood a step back from his other sister. The snowy white kit was on her paws, frowning at Miasmapaw. Fallenshadow, likewise, was watching the she-kit with a faint frown. She didn't say a word, as usual. She'd wait and intervene if it turned into a serious argument, but for now, she'd let them continue.

(Miasma's a kit still )

Miasmakit rolled her eyes at her younger denmates and turned away, glancing out of the den into the clearing. With a muffled growl, she caught sight of Blackkit and her gaze darkened. Arrrg! He's back to that again!? Damn! Swishing her tail, she lowered her head more, burying it halfway into her moss bedding. I just hope someone else stops him before I have to get up and strain my voice at him...

"Hey! Stop that," Emeraldeye growled at Blackkit, putting his paw on the kits back and firmly pushing him away from the piece of prey he was mangling. "Prey is a gift from Starclan, not an enemy! Don't be wasteful, especially in Leaf-bare!" The normally calm, but now edgy with stress, medicine cat snapped at the kit that he still had his light brown paw on.

Risingkit quickly forgot about Miasmakit, turning around and leaping just short of her mother's fluffy tail. She took another short jump and landed on it happily, wrapping her tiny paws around the fur and hugging it to her body. "I got the tail!" She declared triumphantly.

Blackkit swatted away the medicine cat's with his paw, however, it wasn't in a playful manner- his claws were unsheathed. "I wasn't playing with it, you mouse-for-brains! I was EATING it! Now back off and let Frostclan's star have his meal!" Blackkit lurched back and snatched up the shrew and jay, glaring at Emeraldeye's light, brilliant green eyes with his own pair of dark, shadowy ivy eyes- there was a complete difference in color between the two, both green showing light and dark, and perhaps....good and...evil?

(These two will have a rocky relationship.)

"Eat your prey like a sensible cat, then!" Emeraldeye retorted, eyes locked with the small kit. He was a peaceful, sensible-perhaps even regal-medicine cat, but he held a certain contempt for the tiny, black kit. He's much to cocky! He'll get himself killed, he thought crossly, stalking back to his den. He brings nothing but bloodshed to the Clan! Where had that thought come from?
