Rebirth: Frostclan (Official)

"A cat without allies or commitments to others. One who lives for themselves." With a yawn, Oceanfeather stretched with her back arched and blinked her eyes. "Well this was fun, but I still have work to do. I haven't even come up with names yet!" She gave a chuckled and attempted to climb up the fence, but fell part of the way up. "Hehe guess I'm less of a climber and more of a swimmer."

"I suppose so then...." Griffin said, tipping his head, watching Oceanfeather go. He chuckled wryly as she attempted to climb the fence, he padded towards her and gestured towards a hole in the bottom of the fence a few fox lengths down. "When you can't climb, crawl." He suggested. Suddenly a stray breeze brought the scent of milk towards him. His brow furrowed, "Are you expecting?" he asked, bluntly. "You don't look it."

Smiling, Oceanfeather shook her head and meowed,"Nope. I had a litter of three a few days ago, but my milk hadn't come in till now, I guess. Stormblaze had been nursing them since then. I feel bad since I reLly don't know how to be a mom at all- haven't even named them yet. Wanna see them?!" The blue she-cat was excited in the hopes that her two new 'friends' would like to see her new brood. After all, she really didn't have any friends in Frostclan and she only knew Stormblaze through them sharing a den, as well as having no father to share her kits with. So basically, Griffin and Ryzu were her only friends, if you could count them as such.

"Uhh.." Griffin said, a bit lost from the rush of words pouring from Oceanfeather. "Uh, sure. Yeah, sure!" He said, glancing back at Ryzu with a twtitching whisker for his opinion on the matter. To tell the truth, Griffin wasn't as excited about meeting Oceanfeather's kits as he was the for the journey to meet her kits, and seeing the "camp".

(It's okay- she's been surrounded by the scent of milk in the nursery, so she wouldn't have noticed her own until she saw it for herself

Oceanfeather's smile widened and she nodded, about to try and scrambled up the side of the fence until she remembered the hole Griffin had pointed out. "Alrighty the. Don't wander too far though- the forest can be really dangerous sometimes." The blue cat pushed under the fence, her belly and legs rubbed dark with dirt as she wriggles through. Once out, she fluffed up her fur and scented the air. "Now where to find camp," she mumbled softly to herself, hoping that today could be the day she'd be able to find the camp all on her own rather than wander around and wait for a patrol to find her and bring her back to camp. Her ear twitched and she took a few steps forward. "Here!" She started forward, her paws feeling rather light as if she really wasn't too sure of herself. I hope...

(This literally was my first Frostclan cat No lie.)

Griffin slipped through the hole with relative ease due to his slim frame. He quickly padded after Oceanfeather, keeping up with relative ease but staying a few pawsteps behind to follow her. He noted her hesitating steps but decided to not ask her about it, no need to shatter her confidence. "So, what are those mountains you were talking about before?" Griffin asked, his eyes scanning through the large trees and undergrowth. The shadows, and the eerie hugeness of everything was somewhat intimidating maybe talking was the best way to bar it off.

Oceanfeather glanced back at Griffin, her eyes warm with the memory. "The mountains are far north, where four other clans live. I was part of one of the larger ones there, but I got lost and and took a tumble down here. Frostclan took me in when they found me about a moon ago and when my amnesia wore off, I decided to stay here because their medicine cat claimec I wad expecting. I've been here ever since, but I haven't gotten to explore much." She lifted her silver-tipped muzzle to tne air and blinked in surprise. "This way! I smell one of my clanmates- I'm sure of it!" The queen bounded forward with great vigor.

Griffin quickly sprinted after her, staying on her heels. His mind was still filled with dozens of more questions but he managed to not ask them...yet. The silver-grey tabby's muscles rippled under his short pelt, clearly visible due to the almost nonexistant amount of fat on him. Scrounging for food day after day had done two things to him, One: he was far thinner than he used to be, back in his sort life as a kittypet, and Two: he wasn't a picky eater.

Oceanfeather stopped after a time of running- one, to catch her breath as her body seemed to weared down much more quickly as of late, and two, realizing that the Frostclan camp's entrance is only a few foxlengths ahead of her and the toms with her. We're here. Really?! Yeess! The blue she-cat turned to smile at Griffin and Ryzu before meowing,"Just stick with me- they won't bother you if you do." Back to facing the gorse tunnel, Oceanfeather slowly made her way into leaves and thorns until her head poked through and her sapphire gaze was met with that of Breezenut, his golden-olive eyes wide with shock and confusion- even more so as his nose drank in the scents of the unknown toms.

"O-Oceanf-f-feather?! Where have you....."

(I feel bad about not posting, so I will try and put something together. Try.)

Ryzu, finding himself a bit tired after picking his way through the forest, breathed heavily as he watched the she-cat. He was a bit mystified by her walking through a bunch of plants before he noticed that it must've led to an opening somewhere. He heard voices and detected new scents, scents that were definitely those of forest cats. He tentatively followed, each pawstep light, but only managed a few paces forward.

(I don't want to post this again.....Gonna try to make this a summary of my long ass post that got deleted.)

Breezenut's pelt bristled to points as the blue cat continued into the camp, revealing the pair of new cats. "Oceanfeather, I don't think its a good idea to just bring random strangers into the cam-"

"Would you just shut up and calm down? These two happen to be my friends Ryzu and Griffin, and they've come to see my kits. I know them better than I know some of the cats here, I bet!" Her shining blue gaze was icy cold and sent shivers down the tom's spine.

The young warrior was a bit astonished by the generally cheery cat's hostility ad carefully shrank back to allow the newcomers passage to the Nursery. Ears pinned back against his head, the tabby and white tom glanced over his shoulder as he heard slight movement behind him. He met the gaze of his silver and russet streaked kinmate and a wave of relief washed over him as he saw her nod and head towards the leader's den, watching her sleek red tail slip into Icestar's lair. There be no wrath like a queen's scorn. Maybe she'll be alright in there....but still. Allowing two strange toms enter the sleeping place of our young kits can't be smart.

Oceanfeather flicked her bushy tail, motioning for the toms to follow her into the den that smelled strongly of milk and filled with the sounds of excited meals of kits in play. The blue and silver queen had laid down in a now cold nest, in the process of gently plucking a trio of tiny fur bundles back to her belly. "And there, little cream one." Her voice was full of adoration, but awkwardness as well.

Griffin followed Ryzu through the Gorse tunnel and then moved to stand next to him as the forest cats argued. He was about to suggest that he and Ryzu leave if it was trouble when Oceanfeather took control. Griffin warily glanced around at the gathering of cats, and his eyes lingered on the Fresh-kill pile. But he tore his eyes away and quickly padded after Oceanfeather, with a wary glance at the aggressive tabby white tom. A fox length from the nursery his way was blocked by what appeared to be a giant red wall. When it moved, Griffin saw it for what it was as he noticed the black paws and forest green eyes.

Scorchedfoot glared down at Griffin and Ryzu, his chest puffed up and his paws spread in a very balanced stance. His lips curled back, exposing large frothing fangs. "Watch your moves in there, kittypets. I know I will." With that, Scorchedfoot slunk to the side, allowing them entrance.

Griffin had slightly flinched back from the imposing warrior, but as Scorchedfoot slunk to the side, he couldn't help himself. "Oh, so you're that kind of tom." he said, with twitching whiskers.

Scorchedfoot glared at Griffin, a slight growl coming from him as he leaned towards the younger cat. "What!? Oh, I didn't mean any i-" Griffin started, but was quickly cut off as Scorchedfoot tipped his head back and let out a loud, boisterous laugh. It sounded kind of like this: "BWAHAHAHAHA! BWAHAHAHAH !MEOWMEOWMEOWBWAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!!" Seriously though, very loud laughing.

"This one's not too bad, Oceanfeather." He called loudly, loud enough for everyone in the camp, and then some, to hear. He turned away chuckling "That kind of tom.." He muttered as he padded towards his usual position outside the warrior's den.

Griffin, whiskers twitching, in amusement stepped inside the nursery. He had to pause for a moment for his nose and ears to adjust to the overwhelming scent of milk and sound of mewling kittens. Griffin stayed close to the entrance, though he allowed enough room for cats to easily enter and exit. He was uncomfortable entering any further. "They're, uh, beautiful Oceanfeather."

Ryzu nervously trotted up beside his friend, peering into the nursery while the strong scent of nursing queens engulfed him. He looked over Oceanfeather's kits at an awkward loss for words. "Um, yeah...They're beautiful," he mewed, mimicking Griffin.

Oceanfeather smiled softly and gently nudged a grey and white kit closer to her side where the cream kit had pushed her sister away. A small, blind little head of dark sepia and black fur rose slightly to face the toms, his tiny maw open wide with a yawning mewl, his pink tongue lolling. The blue cat then looked at Griffin and Ryzu and her smile faded. "I'm sorry for bringing you here- you both must feel so awkward and uncomfortable being outside of your usual territory. Please, allow me to take you back- I'd feel terrible if you got lost on your way back." At her words, her litter of tiny kits began fussing profusely with their young yelps, as if to protest about their mother leaving one more. "Of course, my kits need feeding before we would go, so please settle around camp and have something to eat. It'll be from my share of kill of the day. The apprentices can assist you if you need it's as well as the tabby and white tom from the entrance. He's Breezenut and he's quite harmless."

Breezenut  watched the cats carefully from afar, though his attention was more directed on the small, silver and black kittypet who stood by Griffin. "That name...." he muttered softly, his warm gaze moving to the camp's entrance. I haven't heard it in a while....A very long while...

"No, no it's fine. This camp, this clan, seems very interesting. I, we, I think, just don't quite understand it, yet. " Griffin said, dipping his head and mewing hastily. "I think it is for the best if Ryzu and I leave though, we seem to be intruding. And we should be able to find our own way back, you should stay with your kits. They need their mother." Dipping his head in farewell, Griffin started to back out of the Nursery.

Oceanfeather went to stand and oppose the idea, but paused as the kits clung to her belly, suckling. She settled back down and sighed. "Alright then. But it would be nice to see you two again some time."

As he noticed the cats leaving the Nursery, Breezenut straightened up and moved slowly over to Ryzu and Griffin. With a matter-of-factly tone, the young tom meowed,"I'll escort you to the edge of our territory. We can't strangers to wander around our land whe we have so many mouths to feed, nor can we have you wandering from our territory onto Flameclan's and have them catch you with our scents on you." His oddly bent tail remained low to the ground, as if he meant to hide it.

"I would love to visit again some time." Griffin called to Oceanfeather, before he turned to Breezenut. He nodded, his silvery head dipping, "Of course. I'm Griffin, by the way." The silver tabby's tail swished behind him.

"Yeah, it'd be awesome if we could we  you again," Ryzu mewed as he padded from the nursery, still thinking of the oddity of the situation. He couldn't deny that he liked the  blue she-cat and her strange attitude. It all seemed very odd, though, how cats lived without twolegs around.
The Tom turned to the cat called Breezenut, looking him over. "Yeah, um...that's cool. My name's Ryzu, by the way."

Breezenut almost grimaced as the tom spoke to him, ducking his head away. "Yeah, yeah. Let's judt go now." He appeared very uncomfortable, careful to keep his tail hidden away as he stayed close to the edge of the path, tucking his tail into the underbrush. Dammit Ryzu. Just as before.....without a mind for memory except with she-cats. Breezenut nearly chuckled under his breath, his gaze almost hurt as it remained glued to the ground.

Silvermaple watched the outsiders with leering eyes, her tail sweeping back and forth across her paws. She gave a small grin, known for being the occasional pervy old bat with no kits to steer her away from preying upon young toms. Oh Oceanfeather- you may be a young, cute piece of work, but you're naive and stuck with kits while I'm wise and not burdenef with such screeching furballs! But I must thank you for letting me get a nice, solid scent of them. Heheheh- tracking such handsome toms will be as easy for me as catching kill!

Griffin followed Breezenut out of the camp, a bit surprised at his gruff manner of speaking. The young tom didn't seem very talkative, but other cats preferences had never affected him before. "Do you get many outsiders? I don't expect you do, which is strange seeing how hospitable all of you are. " the silver tabby said, with more than a little sarcasm. "Still, it's an interesting set-up. Tell me, what is a clan?"

Breezenut sighed and shook his head, beginning,"Clans are groups of cats who spend their days providing and protecting the other members of the clan. They uphold the laws that our ancestors set in stone ions ago, and reject any other way of living their lives. They must remain loyal to their clan and its members, even if their hearts lie elsewhere." Bitterness seemed to riddle his voice with a certain sourness. "We must remain loyal to even those who are unloyal and wish our downfall, and thoses who hate you." His claws dug into the ground. "You can't run away and be free. Nor can you have any say in anything if you can't fight or have respect from the others. And you must stay and face the fire for each and every one of your clanmates, even those who break your heart! Its nothing like the lives you live..." His final sentence was much more soft and hushed as somberness filled his eyes and left a lump in his throat. "Nothing like my life before.....I couldn't escape.....clan cats will always remain clan cats- its in our blood and being."

(Much exhaustion, passion, and rage went into this post......maybe i should stop listening to music when i type at night ^^')

Griffin was a bit taken aback, he hadn't expected so much raw grief to answer his simple question. "I-I don't understand. If you hate it so much, why don't you just leave? You can go, in the middle of the night, tell no one. Just go. "

"Like I said, if you are born with clan blood, the life of a warrior will always figure out a way to find you. Trust me, I've tried. I'm still amazed your friend there has yet to recognize me. And after spending s much time wit him too." Breezenut laughed and added,"Fate's such a cruel thing, isn't she? Seeing around every track you pull and still manages to bite you on the rump. I suppose sometimes she can be good, like when she led Oceanfeather to us....But then she manages to twist things all up for us some other times, like making the blue cat pop up pregnant. Just my luck, huh? That and she's too oblivious and naive to understand when other like her..." The tabby appeared to be speaking more to himself than Griffin.

Ryzu, having followed and listened quite intently throughout Breezenut's speech, seemed a bit taken aback. Recognize him? I've never seen this cat before in my life. Well, he does look a bit like one of the house cats that I used to know, but it can't be him. He was different, he thought, keeping silent through his confusion. Questions gnawed at his mind as he stepped uncomfortably over a bramble after listening to Breezenut talk. "If I'm supposed to recognize you, then who are you?" Ryzu finally asked quietly.

Turning back to look at Ryzu, Breezenut rose a brow and chuckled. "Well, I would've been known as Breezepaw at the time, but my twolegs called me Bobby, as well as you and the others." The tabby and white cat sighed and meowed as he walked,"You know, the little, quirky cat who followed you around- your friend?"
