FrostClan: A Dark Tomorrow

Enigmapaw shivered upon hearing that she would be going to the gathering. So many cats, so many toms, so many foreign toms. The very idea made her want to throw up.

Sleetpaw stretched out. "We'll I'll be out hunting, you guys get your rest." The silvery she-cat touched her nose to Enigmapaw's on the way out of camp. "You'll be fine" She murmured and then continued to go on her hunt.

Shadderpaw couldn't help but chuckle at Enigmapaw's pained face, the horrid look she was making seemed to humor him.

Enigmapaw jumped as Sleetpaw walked by, seeming relieved, but still looked rather nervous.

Mitepaw guessed why he hadn't been picked. Didn't matter to him, though. It was only a matter of time before the others made fun of him as well, but he'd keep up with his hunter and warrior duties just fine. Quartzprickle didn't seem to like him much, but she should at least teach him the basics. Or Sleetpaw. Meh.

Roguepaw was eating a heavy meal and then going to sleep, getting ready for the gathering.

Sleetpaw stalked through the forest, secretly she was glad that she wasn't going. There was so much pressure to pretend that everything was fine and with the scratch on her cheek that could only come from her own clan. There would be questions.

Harrierstar stood in the centre of camp and waited for the cats he had chosen to join him. The sun was setting and it was becoming colder. Roguepaw padded out of the Apprentice den just as an exhausted Sleetpaw padded in, she wouldn't bother waiting up for them.

Enigmapaw padded up slowly, attempting to hide behind the other cats. She was jittery and nervous, obviously not wanting to go.

Relicheart sighed, glancing back at Burntwhisker's limp body behind him. He wouldn't be able to mourn over the old cat tonight, but perhaps when he returned? He continued over to Harrierstar, ready to take stride along the leader's right side, paying no mind to the cat who was supposed to walk on Harrierstar's right side, the deputy. His massive paws crushed the dead, fallen leaves to brittle flecks of fiery autumn colors.

Quartprickle trailed a bit behind her father, her icy cold blood still boiling unnaturally at how he had attacked Sleetpaw, her polar fur spicked more and her tufted-ears pricked.

Shadderpaw had wondered why Foggypath wasn't coming, then again, he really didn't care. After all, he hadn't trained with his mentor very much at all during his apprenticehood. It seemed as if Relicheart, and maybe even Shadowcore and Hellspire, were more of mentors that the warrior whom had been entrusted with his own learning.

Mitepaw once again thought of why Harrierstar had chosen Enigmapaw to go to the gathering rather than another cat. The poor apprentice looked as if she wanted to take on a whole army of foxes rather than go to the gathering, but it looked like she had no choice.

Harrierstar lead the way, his tail swishing behind him and his head held high. He intended to make an impression when he entered the gathering grounds, one that BoulderClan would remeber. He kept a quick but steady past, not so fast that the young cats would fall behind.

Roguepaw walked along calmly. His bright blue eyes made a sharp contrast to his dark fur and they glittered in the coming moon light. He had his tail straight behind him and his head steady, neither here nor there.

Enigmapaw trailed a bit behind purposely, trying to keep it together before she trotted forward to join the others. Gathering sure were stressful. The other cats looked proud or excited, while she was here, cowering like a kit. Come on Enigmapaw, pull it together. This is pathetic. She thought, eyes flickering back and forth.

Sitting around their leader with their tails curled, Lunarstar remained at the center of the group, speaking briefly to his clanmates before climbing up to where the leaders sat, sending a cool glance to the entering Harrierstar's way. Beneath his spot, his older brother slashed boredly at an old, gnarled root, his and his brother's bright green and blue eyes popping out of the darkness where their pitch black pelts seemed invisible.

The Boulderclan apprentices murmured excitedly to each other, except for Onyxpaw and Lakepaw, the two small toms remaining beside the elderly medicine cat that Shadderpaw recognized well as Runeprayer. The black she-cat with green eyes known as Hollypaw and the Ginger she-cat with amber eyes known as Gingerpaw darted quickly over from their group to Enigmapaw, their friendly gazes glittering as they mused hyper greetings of kindness to the shy she-cat, hoping to make a new friend during their first Gathering.

Quartzprickle padded over a group of Boulderclan warriors, Pecan-nose, Vipersqueal, Yakfoot, and Bloodberry, who all greeted her with kind smiles and pleasant words, the Frostclan she-cat settling down with the rest of them for the remainder of the Gathering.

"Man, these clan cats sure are weird." Hissed a quiet voice from the underbrush.

"Dangit Orchidkit, shut your trap, or they'll hear us!" Said one, louder and probably easily heard by some cats in the area. "Stealth mission, captain clever. Stealth mission!"

"Jeez, sorry Slipkit."

"You SHOULD be!"

Harrierstar went straight for the leaders spot and sat between Lunarstar and Daystar. The MossClan leader looked disinterested in either of the cats near her and instead studied the cats below with bright orange eyes.

Veildedmist sat with the other deputies.

Harrierstar watched Lunarstar from the corner of his eye, looking for any signs of nervousness in the young leader.

Roguepaw sat with Shadderpaw. He made an effort to look tall and proud, but uncaring of the cats around him, letting any cat from BoulderClan who looked his way see the way his eyes sparked with cool intelligence. He sent a smirk and a wink Onxypaw's way and twitched his -still attached- tail.

Onyxpaw snorted at the sight of Shadderpaw and Roguepaw, meeting their gazes. But as he was about to murmur a curse at them, he was slashed across the top of his head by the ratty old elder, Runeprayer obviously did not tolerate behavior that she found useless. "Calm yurself, you damn lil' flea! Or I'll split yur that broke thinki' cap of yur's in two!"

It was clear that the majority of the Boulderclan cats were peace lovers, despite their cowardliness, and enjoyed socializing with others, no matter what clan, and Quartzprickle was no exception. She and the other she-cats and toms laughed as if she were just another warrior, chatting about current happenings in each other's camps.

"Man, Vectorpaw, would you whoop him for me?" Grumbled Slipkit, stomping his tiny paws on the ground. "He won't SHUT UP."

The young, mood-shifty she-cat snorted and headbutted the kit that Slipkit ordered, her purple eyes flashing brightly. "Dang yeah! Nothing better than to crash all those grown ups' partying!! Am I right, Basilkit? Oh come on and talk already. Its already been, what, like three weeks since you split Mossclan. Just deal with the fact that your better off here, with me!" The yellow apprentice with black, arrow-like stripes nudged the tiny tabby and tan she-kit playfully.

Daystar gave a slight cough to bring the attention back to the leaders. Secretly pleased when everyone stopped what they were doing to turn to look at her. "If we are all ready.." She meowed, turning to look at the now arriving FlameClan. "Let us get this gathering going."

Sleetpaw snuggled deeper into her nest, the warmth of her denmates making her pleasantly drowsy and she drifted off to sleep.
(DREAM SEQUENCE.)

Sleetpaw awoke in a forest, the full moon shining down on her. It was warm, green-leaf by the looks of it. She smiled as a butterfly fluttered past and laughed when it landed on her nose. It flew off and she chased after it. "Hey, where ya going little guy!" She called, her voice echoing strangely.

(( Wait wat is their leader's name or do I get to come up with it? ))

"Yeah! Man, I'm glad Orchidkit and I ditched Flameclan, those guys were losers. Ain't that right?" Slipkit gestured to Orchidkit, who nodded furiously.

"Yeah, I think Twoclan is a whole lot better." The small she-kit replied.

Missingstar nodded, twitching his whiskers towards the other leaders as he padded into the clearing. He was completely missing his right ear, he had been born without it. His eyes turned to the clan following him and then back to the leaders, expecting someone else to begin before he did.
